Summer Entrepreneurship Bootcamp by University of Queensland, Australia
Five commerce students from namely Arushi Rajwar, Saher Taneja, Sarthak Kapoor, Ronak Sanmati Jain and Mridul Soni, of class XII received the opportunity to think and act with an entrepreneurial mindset by participating in the University of Queensland India Summer Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, under the UQ Ventures Discovery for Indian Schools initiative. The certified program was delivered over five consecutive weeks, each week comprising of 90 minutes live virtual session with experts followed by team based activities to achieve a weekly milestone as a team. The workshops gave a comprehensive understanding on the different steps involved in the entrepreneurship journey – from personality and traits of an entrepreneur, to customer discovery, product development, business modeling, pitching and storytelling. As a part of the project, our team came up with idea of a startup ‘Organique’, which aimed at tackling a twofold issue. One aspect being, the surplus production of organic fruits and vegetables by farmers in Uttarakhand with the low demand in their region and the other being low availability and high prices of organic produce in cities like Delhi where they are highly demanded. It was indeed a great learning experience for the students, whereby they could bring out the entrepreneur in themselves and work upon the essential skills.
