Mr. Sanjay Yadav, Principal of Ahlcon International School conducted a session on 18^th July, 2020 on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and emphasized that it is the capacity to effectively negotiate complex social relationships and manage one’s emotions wisely. SEL is identified with five components such as Self-awareness, Self-management, Social awareness, Relationship skills and Responsible decision making. It was highlighted that today’s kids need more empathy, attention span, and internal motivation. A case study was also shared on bullying behaviour and some activities were suggested to encourage SEL. It was highlighted that as educators of 21st century learners, teachers should focus on SEL of kids which is the need of the hour and support them to develop their emotional intelligence as well along with academic intelligence.
