Class Assembly on Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.”

Nature and environment are there for human’s existence. By practicing environmental conservation, we strive to maintain the delicate balance of our environment and minimize the negative impact of human activities. To spread awareness and sensitize children, Foundation Stage-II of Ahlcon International School organized a Class Assembly on the Theme-Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’, on Thursday, 20th July,2023.

Ahlconites began the assembly by seeking Almighty’s blessings while chanting of Gayatri Mantra. The assembly reflected on the importance of three R’s. They are the foundations of environmental stewardship. These simple concepts are a good place to start when teaching environmental issues to young children. Practicing the three R’s helps with conservation of energy and resources as well as landfill diversion. Students enacted a skit with the help of props on the importance of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Through the skit, the students emphasized on the plight of Mother Earth due to Global warming. The students focused on utilizing cloth shopping bags to avoid using plastic bags and putting glass, paper, and plastic garbage in the right bins for disposal. The students highlighted the prompt actions to be taken to conserve and save Mother Earth.

Students motivated their peers to adopt the method of composting the bio-degradable waste, thus contributing to reducing the waste throw in landfills. The students emphasized proper methods of waste management by practicing 7R’s (Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Regift, Recycle), thus encouraging the audience the right method to deal with different kind of waste.

A group of students enthralled the audience with a melodious song on 3R’s. The assembly was followed by a beautiful Bharatnatyam dance performance by Miss Confident. New and Innovative ideas for reducing, reusing and recycling was shown through a delightful video where the initiatives taken up by the students were exhibited.

Lastly, it was followed by a speech by esteemed Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav and Headmistress Foundation, Ms. Pooja Shandilya, which encouraged everyone to keep taking proactive steps to conserve Mother Earth.

The Class Teacher and Students of Class II-C expressed their sincere gratitude towards them for their words of encouragement and appreciation. The assembly was conducted smoothly and the audience was mesmerized by the impeccable performance of the students.

The assembly was concluded with the National Anthem.
