Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative launched by the Government of India, holds a special place in the hearts of every Indian. This year marks the 76th anniversary of India’s independence. The Foundation Stage of Ahlcon International School celebrated ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative to not only honor the sacrifices of our freedom fighters but also commemorate 76 years of India’s independence journey.

A wide range of activities were conducted ensuring engagement and participation across all students of foundation stage. Some of the important activities included:

1. National Flag Making and Hand Printing

On Monday, 7^th of August 2023, the young students of foundation stage embarked on an exciting journey with ‘Making of National Flag with Hand Printing.’ This hands-on activity helped us to instill a sense of patriotism and pride in children as they created their own miniature tricolor flags, understanding the significance of each color. Children also showcased their creativity by drawing and coloring scenes depicting the essence of Independence Day.

2. Tip printing in Kite with Tri colour

On Wednesday 9^th of August, our little patriots engaged themselves in ‘Tip Printing in Kite with Tricolor.’ This activity blended creativity with our nations’ glory as students created vibrant kites decorated with the national flag’s colors, reflecting the spirit of freedom and unity. An engaging quiz on Independence Day was also conducted which ignited the curiosity amongst learners, deepening their understanding of our nation’s history and the significance of the occasion.

3. Storytelling Session

A captivating storytelling session, ‘हर घर तिरंगा,’ was conducted for students of class I and II which ignited the flame of patriotism within them. Students also delved into the essence of India with ‘Let’s Learn About Our Country- India.’ Where they recited the patriotic poems in both languages, representing the essence of unity, diversity, and love for their motherland. Their tricolour costumes enhanced the whole experience.

4. Unity in Diversity

The students of class 2 showcased the diversity of India through an act on ‘Unity in Diversity.’ They came dressed in traditional attire representing various states, and proudly spoke a few lines about the state they were representing.

The celebrations were marked by enthusiasm, patriotism, and a deep sense of pride. On Friday, 11^th August 2023, a special assembly on Independence Day was also conducted. This assembly was the main highlight of the entire celebration, where students transformed themselves into freedom fighters, wearing costumes that recreated patriotic aura in the assembly hall. The enactment of their roles served as a reminder of the struggles and sacrifices made by our soldiers for the nation’s freedom.

Through these celebration, students gained profound insights into India’s history, culture, and freedom struggle. It also instilled in them a deep sense of patriotism, reminding them of their responsibility to contribute towards their nation’s progress.
