REPORT Of WEEK-3 ACTIVITY – KNOWING YOUR SURROUNDINGS
(19th October to 25th October 2023)
Ahlcon International School continues its commitment to holistic education, and as a part of the ‘Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav,’ the institution has embarked on an exciting and environmentally conscious journey, this time focusing on the ‘Knowing Your Surroundings’ campaign. In an effort to instill a deep appreciation for the environment and the world around us, we curated and conducted a set of engaging activities from the 19th to 25th of October 2023 for our little learners of Foundation Stage, the students of Nursery and Prep classes.
Theme: Knowing Your Surroundings
We strongly believe that young minds are inherently curious and eager to explore their surroundings. Hence, we designed a series of activities to encourage our young explorers to discover the beauty and significance of the world that envelops them. To help our children understand and appreciate their surroundings, following activities were thoughtfully conducted for the children.
Activity 1 – Nature Walk and Artistry
Our Nursery children embarked on an exciting journey around the school premises, exploring the natural wonders it holds. Children were also encouraged to express their artistic talents by drawing a beautiful nature scene they observed during their walk. This activity helped them to connect with the beauty of their immediate surroundings.
Activity 2 – Nature Scavenger Hunt
At Ahlcon International School, education is not confined to the classroom, but it extends to the world outside. Our Prep students also went on a journey of exploration. They took a stroll around the school campus, collected fallen leaves, and discovered the diversity of flora in their surroundings. Later, they used these leaves to create imaginative and artistic objects like book marks, nature scene fostering a sense of creativity and environmental consciousness.
Activity 3 – Discovering Delhi’s Monuments
Our young enthusiasts had the opportunity to delve into the rich cultural heritage of Delhi. They were showcased a video featuring some of the iconic monuments that grace our city. Later, they unleashed their creativity by coloring pictures of these landmarks on a specially designed worksheet. This activity was a wonderful blend of culture and art, helping children understand and appreciate their historical surroundings.
Activity 4 – Monuments of Delhi Quiz and Artistry
Our Prep students were engaged in an exciting quiz that focused on the historical monuments in Delhi. This activity aimed to broaden their knowledge and awareness of their cultural heritage. Following the quiz, they exhibited their artistic abilities by drawing and colouring pictures of two of the most magnificent monuments of Delhi i.e. Qutub Minar and India Gate in their art files.
