Special Assembly on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
“A woman, much like the sun, holds within her the ability to create, nurture, and transform. She continues to shine brightly, undaunted by the storms and ever-shifting weather of life.”
On 1st December 2023, Class 7B conducted a special assembly to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women(25th December).
The objectives of the assembly were to:
- draw attention to the disparities that women experience
- raise awareness and advocate for a safer and more respectful world for everyone
At the outset, students presented a rap song honouring female achievers highlighting how women are breaking boundaries and receiving acclaim in various fields like sports, politics, or the armed forces. They utilized informative presentations to raise awareness of strategies to end violence against women and foster equality in society.
Additionally, students performed short scenes during Nukkad Natak underlining the issues that women and girls encounter in various spheres of life. They also presented an inspirational interview with Ms. Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor, showcasing her resilience and strength. A book review on ‘The Story of Malala Yusufzai’ was also presented, motivating the young minds to read the book, delve into Malala’s inspiring journey and join her quest for education, equality, and peace.
The assembly culminated in a powerful dance performance conveying an impactful message—highlighting that girls embody resilience, affection, selflessness, and bravery, emphasizing their capabilities when given equal opportunities. It was much appreciated by the dignitaries.
