Guru Nanak Jayanti and Dev Deepawali
On Friday, 24th November 2023, students of class Nursery – D and I – E conducted a Special Assembly on the festival of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Dev Deepawali. Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti is an auspicious festival that marks the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Ji.
Dev Deepawali holds immense spiritual significance for devotees of Lord Shiva. As per mythology, it’s believed that on this day Lord Shiva slayed demon king Tripurasur. This festival is celebrated in Varanasi and Banaras primarily.
The assembly started with the chant of Mool Mantra, ‘Ek Onkar’ by children to seek the blessings of Almighty. Later, the children of both classes along with Panj Pyaare started the procession known as Prabhat Feri in the auditorium showcasing the significant ritual of Sikh Culture.
The assembly progressed with the dance performance by students of class I-E wishing everyone Happy Dev Deepawali in which children performed enticingly and flawlessly, filling the whole aura with the Deepawali Vibes.
The assembly culminated with words of wisdom from honourable Principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav and Headmistress (Foundation Stage) Ms. Pooja Shandilya. They acknowledged the student’s contribution and teachers’ efforts in making the assembly a successful event. They even praised how beautifully the essence of these festivals is inculcated in the children.
