‘EK PED MAA KE NAAM’ INITIATIVE
“He that plants trees loves others besides himself.” — Thomas Fuller
The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, held on 27th July 2024, was a heart-warming event where seven students from Middle-Stage, along with teacher co-ordinator Ms. Seema Jaiswal and 6 students of Senior Stage along with teacher co-ordinator Ms. Aishwarya Mariyam Aji, came together to plant numerous saplings at the Department of Forest and Wildlife site near the PWD Office. The event was graced by the presence of the SDM South Zone.
The main objectives of the initiative were:
– To foster environmental awareness and responsibility among children by engaging them in tree planting activities.
– To strengthen the emotional connection between the children and environmental conservation by dedicating each tree to their mothers.
– To encourage children to take active roles in promoting sustainability and protecting our planet for future generations.
The children expressed pride in contributing to a greener future, mentioning that they felt proud to have planted a tree in their mother’s name and saw it as a small step towards a greener future.
The SDM South Zone praised the children’s efforts, expressing delight at their enthusiasm for environmental conservation and noting that the initiative would undoubtedly make a positive impact. The event concluded with the children pledging to care for the environment and promote sustainability in their daily lives, leaving a lasting impression on the importance of preserving the planet.
The teachers involved extended heartfelt gratitude to the Principal and Headmistress for providing this invaluable opportunity to the students. By fostering an environment that emphasizes the importance of environmental conservation, they have empowered students to become responsible stewards of the planet. Their vision and commitment to nurturing the next generation of environmental champions were deeply appreciated.
