International Paper Bag Day and Van Mahotsav

“To be without trees would, in the most literal way, be without our roots.”

Trees are vital to the Earth’s ecosystem, serving as the foundation for a healthy and balanced environment. They contribute to air and water quality, prevent soil erosion, produce oxygen, and absorb carbon dioxide through photosynthesis.

To spread awareness and sensitize everyone towards saving Earth, the little warriors of class II – B from Foundation Stage-II of Ahlcon International School conducted an assembly on the theme ‘Celebrate Nature – Preserve the Future’ on 11.07.24. The assembly began with the Almighty’s blessings and the recitation of the Gayatri Mantra, followed by inspiring thoughts and news headlines.

The theme was revealed through a short enactment where a little rabbit was caught in a plastic bag. Complete information on International Paper Bag Day was provided with the support of flashcards. Students took a pledge to choose paper, cloth, or jute bags to save the planet Earth.

Later, students were enlightened about Van Mahotsav through a poem. They were also informed about ways individuals can protect and nurture the environment.

A heart-warming video of Class II-B students planting saplings during the summer break was shown. The event concluded with enthralling group and solo dance performances by students, appealing to everyone not to cut trees and to plant as many trees as possible.

The event concluded with speeches and appreciation by esteemed Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav, and Headmistress, Ms. Pooja Shandilya, who encouraged the students for their incredible performance and appreciated them for spreading awareness and measures to save our planet Earth.

The class teacher and students expressed their sincere gratitude for their words of encouragement and appreciation. The assembly was conducted efficiently, and the audience was mesmerized by the immaculate performances of the students. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
