Assembly Report by I-D and I-E
Mahatma Gandhi ji played a pivotal role in India’s Independence story. He is known as the ‘Father of the Nation’ and fondly called Bapu. There is so much that a student can learn from Gandhiji’s life.
Classes I-D and I-E had the privilege of conducting the assembly program on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. This assembly was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about an important figure in Indian history and the values he stood for.
The assembly program began with a prayer song followed by Gayatri Mantra. The program commenced with a warm welcome from the class teacher. The comperes introduced the significance of Gandhi Jayanti. The principles of Gandhiji’s life were demonstrated on the stage through a placard presentation by the students. They delivered the important highlights of Gandhi’s philosophy, such as non-violence, simplicity, Nai Taleem, etc.
Students presented a beautiful group song ‘ainak pehne, lathi pakde chalte the vo shaan se….’ which resonated with Gandhiji’s ideals and was enthusiastically sung. The Master Confident narrated anecdotes from Gandhiji’s life through which students learned a lot. They imbibed that peace is the way of life.
In the other segment of the assembly, children highlighted the occasion of World Tourism Day which is celebrated on 27th September every year. This day proposes that despite all the cultural differences we all are the same.
A video presentation was shown in which pictures of students at various international and domestic destinations were shown in the form of a short movie. The students were extremely excited to watch their friends in the video. They got eager to explore new places, learn about different cultures, and develop a love for travel.
Students danced to catchy tunes of various cultures like African, Scottish, Spanish, and Indian. They dressed up in traditional attire from different countries and brought diversity on the stage. This segment concluded the assembly and was enjoyed thoroughly by everyone.
Thereafter, Vice Principal, Mr. Puneet Duggal, and Headmistress, Foundation Stage, Ms. Pooja Shandilya graced the stage and inspired the students to follow Gandhiji’s principles in life. They also appreciated the sense of exploration which was inculcated through the world tourism day. They applauded the performances of the students.
The assembly concluded with a vote of thanks by the class teachers followed by the National Anthem.
