Dussehra Assembly Report
On October 9, 2024, the students of Ahlcon International School, Foundation Stage, of Prep-E conducted a Special Assembly to celebrate the festival of Dussehra. The event beautifully captured the values and spirit of the festival, highlighting the triumph of good over evil and righteousness over wrongdoing. The program was a vibrant mix of performances that engaged the audience with devotion, learning, and joy.
The assembly commenced with a warm welcome for the guests, setting a respectful and inviting tone for the event. This was followed by a devotional performance titled Bhajananjali, where young student Ahana presented a melodious chant in homage to the divine, creating an atmosphere of deep reverence.
Next, the students performed a play titled Bal Ramayana: A Story of Valor and Dharma. In it, they enacted key scenes from the Ramayana, focusing on Lord Rama’s bravery and moral values. The captivating portrayal of the epic helped the students internalize important virtues such as truth, duty, and courage, encouraging them to apply these lessons in their own lives.
Following the play, the audience enjoyed a heartfelt Devotional Reverence (Song), further uplifting the spiritual atmosphere. The children sang songs that highlighted the importance of devotion and selflessness.
The theme of Dussehra—burning the vices of Ravana and embracing virtue—was further reinforced through a video presentation titled Burning Ravana’s Vices: Lighting the Path of Virtue. The video emphasized the symbolic significance of Ravana’s burning, encouraging everyone to eliminate themselves of negative qualities like pride, anger, and greed, and to adopt virtues that lead to a righteous path.
After the video, the students performed Nrityanjali, a graceful dance that celebrated the festive spirit of Dussehra. The performance was vibrant and lively, adding a sense of joy and festivity to the assembly.
The assembly concluded with addresses by the school leadership. The Vice Principal, Mr. Puneet Duggal, and Headmistress, Ms. Pooja Shandilya shared their reflections on the significance of Dussehra, emphasizing the festival’s lessons of righteousness. They encouraged the students to apply these values daily by following the path of goodness and integrity.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem, symbolizing unity and pride, bringing the assembly to a dignified close.
The Class Prep-E students showcased their talents beautifully, making the Dussehra special assembly a memorable and meaningful event for all.
