Guru Nanak Jayanti Assembly Report

“Let no man in the world live in delusion. Without a guru, none can cross over to the shore.”

On 11^th November’24, Class IV-E of Ahlcon International school, Preparatory Stage, presented a thoughtful and inspiring assembly dedicated to the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.

The assembly began with gratitude to the almighty followed by the warm welcome of the school heads, teachers and students. A student shared a “thought of the day” that highlighted the importance of kindness. This was followed by news highlights and then the word of the day – “compassion”—which seamlessly connected back to the values that Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught.

The assembly then took a melodious turn with a heartfelt hymn performed by a group of students, creating a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere. Following this, the students presented an informative slideshow, taking us back to the origins of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life. They highlighted the prayers at Gurudwaras, vibrant Nagar Kirtans, and the communal Langar meal, a beautiful symbol of unity and selfless service.

Adding a lively cultural element, the students performed a skit to illustrate how families come together to celebrate this joyous festival. The skit brought out the festival’s spirit through its portrayal of customs like the Nagar Kirtan procession, Akhand Path and concluded with a powerful Shabd of Gurbani dance performance, which filled the hall with devotion and energy.

Last but not the least, was the energetic dance performance, where students performed Bhangra. The assembly concluded with the appreciated remarks from the Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav, who complimented the students for their hard work, creativity, and dedication in presenting such an inspiring assembly. He also encouraged the students in carrying these teachings forward in our lives.
