Diwali Special Assembly

“Diwali is not just a festival, it’s a celebration of life, love, and togetherness.”

Diwali is one of the major festivals celebrated all over India. It generally symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

To mark this special occasion, the Foundation Stage at Ahlcon International School celebrated with a lively assembly conducted on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. The students of Nursery B and C participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing the spirit of Diwali with joy and excitement.

The assembly began with a sacred prayer seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. Following the prayer, the children from both classes sang a melodious Diwali song, Diwali Aayi…. The soulful song and the joyful spirit with which the students sang filled the environment with happiness and cheer. An innovative highlight of the assembly was a roleplay based on characters from the Ramayana. The children, dressed as prominent figures like Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, and Ravana, each spoke about virtues that hold significance in today’s world. This was followed by a skit emphasizing the importance of celebrating a Green Diwali, where the children encouraged eco-friendly practices like using earthen lamps, saying no to firecrackers, and preserving the earth for future generations. The message of a Green Diwali was further reinforced through a video in which the children shared various ways to celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly manner. The event concluded with a mesmerizing Diwali dance performance by the children.

The assembly also included an inspiring address by our respected Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav; Vice Principal, Mr. Puneet Duggal; and Headmistress of the Middle Stage, Ms. Sunanda S. Kumar. They emphasized the importance of celebrating Diwali in an eco-friendly way by lighting earthen diyas and avoiding firecrackers. The heads expressed their joy and pride in the children’s

excellent performances. The assembly concluded with an encouraging address by Headmistress Ms. Pooja Shandilya, who shared motivational words, applauded the team for their efforts, and commended the children for a remarkable show.
