Report on Toy Donation Drive by Ahlcon International School

‘If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.’

To inculcate a feeling of empathy, from 4^th November to 12^th November 2024, the Middle Stage of Ahlcon International School organized a heartwarming Toy Donation Drive in collaboration with Hamleys, aiming to bring joy to underprivileged children during the festive season. The initiative resonated with the school’s commitment to fostering compassion and moral values among its students.

Objectives of the Drive:

– To encourage empathy and a spirit of giving among students.

– To spread happiness by donating toys, books, and stationery to underprivileged children.

– To promote sustainability by avoiding plastic wrapping and encouraging the use of newspapers.

Students were invited to donate their old toys, books, and stationery items, which were carefully wrapped in newspapers to promote eco-friendly practices. Each package included a heartfelt note written by the students for the recipients, adding a personal touch to the gesture.

The response to the drive was overwhelming, with over 85 students participating enthusiastically. Together, their contributions filled around 10 cartons of donations. Once the collection was complete, a nearby NGO was selected as the beneficiary of this thoughtful initiative.

On the day of distribution, 28^th November 2024, a group of six students, accompanied by teachers—Ms. Preeti Chanana and Ms. Niyati Khanna, visited the NGO to personally hand over the donations. The smiles and gratitude on the faces of the children at the NGO were truly heartwarming and served as a reminder of the profound impact of small acts of kindness.

This Toy Donation Drive not only spread joy but also served as a meaningful learning experience for the students. It instilled the values of generosity, empathy, and responsibility, reinforcing the importance of contributing to society. Initiatives like these underscore Ahlcon International School’s commitment to holistic education, nurturing compassionate individuals ready to make a positive difference in the world.
