Educational Tour to Jaipur and Abhaneri: A Memorable Experience
“Travel is the best teacher, offering lessons beyond textbooks.”
AHLCON International School, Preparatory Stage, recently organized an exciting educational tour for the students of grade 4 and 5, to the UNESCO Heritage City of Jaipur and the historic site of Abhaneri. The three-day trip, held from March 21st to March 23rd 2025, was a blend of history, culture, and hands-on learning experiences.
Day 1: Exploring Abhaneri and Jaipur
The journey began early in the morning as 28 enthusiastic students accompanied by three teachers and Headmistress Ms. Madhuri Dadhich, assembled at the school premises at 5:00 AM. The group embarked on a coach journey to Jaipur, with an enroute halt for breakfast and a stop at the famous Abhaneri Stepwell, also known as Chand Baori. This ancient stepwell, known for its mesmerizing geometric design and 3,500 symmetrically arranged steps, offered students a fascinating glimpse into medieval Indian architecture and water conservation techniques.
Upon arrival in Jaipur by lunchtime, the students checked into Hotel Clarks Amer. Post-lunch, they visited the grand City Palace, an iconic historical complex that showcases Rajasthan’s royal heritage through its palaces, museums and courtyards. After a day of exploration, students returned to the hotel for high tea, relaxation and a well-earned dinner before retiring for the night.
Day 2: Immersing in Jaipur’s Heritage and Culture
The second day commenced with a visit to the magnificent Amer Fort, where students trekked up the fort hill, absorbing the splendor of Rajputana architecture. Amer Fort was a highlight, as they walked through its magnificent courtyards, tunnels, and palaces while listening to fascinating tales of Rajput valor.
The evening was spent at Chokhi Dhani, a cultural village that provided an immersive Rajasthani experience with folk performances, traditional cuisine, and rural activities. The day concluded with a delightful dinner at Chokhi Dhani before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3: An Experiential Visit and Farewell
On the final day, after breakfast, students explored the art of Sanganer’s handmade paper and block printing. They even had the chance to create their own handkerchief prints, adding a hands-on dimension to their learning experience.
Following lunch at the hotel, the return journey to school began, with an en-route halt for evening snacks. By 8:30 PM, students safely arrived back at school, concluding a remarkable and enriching tour.
Lessons and Memories
This educational trip was not just a sightseeing tour; it was an enriching experience that provided students with historical knowledge, cultural exposure, and a sense of responsibility. The visit to heritage sites, hands-on workshops and exposure to local traditions, made learning fun and interactive.
The trip was a resounding success, leaving students with lifelong memories and valuable lessons. AHLCON International School looks forward to organizing more educational excursions that blend fun, learning and adventure!
