Intra-school IT Fest – DIGIT 5.0

DIGIT is a Tech-based fest aiming to foster invaluable technical skills among Ahlconites. The fifth version of it was organized by the students of class 11th and 12^th Computer Science students using the online platform ‘Zoom’, where nearly 500 computer enthusiasts participated in 10 different events ranging from fashion designing  to unexpected surprise events.

The organizing committee worked under the supervision of Ms. Urvashi Singhal and came up with some new events for this year namely Dishkyaoon (Gaming), Kryptic Implexis (Quiz), The Chamber of Secrets(Surprise), Who’sTheFunniest (Stand-up Comedy), Callus Fingers(Blogging),  MadOverDesigning(Fashion Designing), Aperture (Photography), Photo Funia(Digital Art), Shut the Frame Up (Stock video editing) and  Memewar (Meme making). It was astonishing to see the young minds of Ahlcon unleashing their talents like never before.

All the other events except ‘Dishkyaoon’, ‘Kryptic Implexis’ and ‘The Chamber of Secrets’ were passive as the participants have to submit their entries via the link provided to them. On 19^th of October 2020, the Inaugural Function with the blessings of Director sir Mr. Ashok Pandey, Principal Sir Mr. Sanjay Yadav, commenced the fest. The entire function was covered live on youtube.

Following it, we started off with the elementary round of Kryptic Implexis and Dishkyaoon. On the next day, The Chamber of Secrets let the secret out for which participants were energized to challenge their mind. It was followed by the final round of Kryptic Implexis and Dishkyaoon. Students after each round were eliminated and the last one showed up as the best.

While the judgement of rest of the passive events, OC remain just and unbiased. For Who’sTheFunniest, participants were supposed to present a comical bit that revolves around the theme ‘technology’. This event was as exciting for judges as it was for the participants. For Callus Fingers, participants had to write a blog on the topic ‘World without Mirrors’.  It was inspiring to read all the blogs. Each entry presented a new thought. Under Mad over Designing, students had to design an outfit using the elements related to technology. It was so hard to believe that the designs were made by students of such young age because they all were so perfect. Aperture was the event that was unique in its own way. Participants were asked to click a photo using mobile phones related to the theme ‘Home’.   All the entries were so good that it made the judgement more procedure difficult.  For Photo Funia, students had to design digitally on the following themes: – World of Thoughts, Portrait, Hope, Hell. Participants expressed their thoughts beautifully via their paintings. For the ‘Shut the Frame up’ students received a raw video to which they have to edit keeping the basic elements same. In Memewar, Ahlconites proved that they have some extraordinary humour. All the memes were hilarious but the best ones were awarded.

Results of the same were compiled and announced on 22^nd October in the Valedictory Function. The dignitaries congratulated the winners as well as the OC. DIGIT undoubtedly gave a new essence to everybody. It has been one of the most favorite fest in which students get to compete for something which has been a passion for them. With this, the fest came to an end with heart filled with memories and mind set up for new skills.
