Virtual Diwali Assembly
Diwali is celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm by people throughout the world. Although it’s considered as a Hindu festival, people from different communities celebrate the bright festival. Diwali is often referred to as the “Festival of Lights”. People light earthen oil lamps and decorate their houses with lights of different colours and sizes which glitter at their entrances and fences and make for a mesmerizing view. On 11th November,2020 Class 12th D organized a special assembly to celebrate a virtual Diwali during the pandemic.
The assembly was compered by Apoorva Rajput and Vishakha Karwal. It began with a beautiful thought from the Valmiki Ramayana followed by the updates of the world. To explain the significance of Diwali and the need to stop burning crackers, an informative panel discussion was also organised by the students. A heart-warming video was also presented by the students on a fun-filled virtual Diwali party which was loved by all. The assembly was concluded with a poem- An Ode to Deepavali.
The assembly was addressed by Dr. Rohini Ahluwalia (Chairperson), Mr. Sanjay Yadav (Principal), Mr. Puneet Duggal (HM Senior school), Ms. Sunita Rajiv (HM Middle school) and Ms. Pooja Shandilya (AHM,Pre- Primary section). The assembly truly left a positive impact on the audience and spread the message of celebrating a happy Diwali while keeping in mind the safety of all our loved ones. The assembly made everyone realise that the true essence of Diwali is finding positivity in the moment, and being grateful for health and happiness. Large-scale celebrations aren’t necessary; what’s important is cherishing time spent with those close to you.
