CELEBRATION OF CONSTITUTION DAY ON 26TH NOVEMBER 2020
The existence and successful survival of Democracyin diverse conditions is the most celebrated fact about our country and constitution is its backbone. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 19th November 2015 notified the decision of the Government of India, to celebrate the 26th day of November every year as ‘Constitution Day’ to promote Constitutional values among citizens.To reinforce the significance and importance of constitution, the 71st Anniversary of the adoption of our constitution was celebrated. The Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas on November 26, 2020 in remembrance of the Father of Indian Constitution, Dr. B R Ambedkar, in all its solemnity was celebrated in Ahlcon International School under the stewardship of the school visionaries- Dr Ashok K Pandey the Director, and Mr Sanjay Yadav the Principal.
Numerous activities were conducted across all the sections to reiterate the great work done by the revered members of the Constituent Assembly. In Primary Section a special morning assembly was conducted in classes 1 to 5 on the significance of the Constitution Day. The virtual assembly commenced with the introduction of the most important members, whose immemorial sayings and quotes were delivered by the students. Teacher talk was organized during which the teacher explained many unknown facts like need for the constitution, History of constitution, People behind constitution of India, Basic rights and responsibilities of Indian citizens, Preamble of constitution. The guiding values mentioned in the preamble were explained to the students through PPT by the respective class teachers who also administered the pledge of the Preamble to promote and highlight the constitutional values amongst the students. All the students and teachers reaffirmed their commitment to the Indian constitution by taking the pledge.
In Middle Section informative programmes on the history and making of constitution, the fundamental duties and rights provided to the citizen of country were presented. Some students represented themselves as Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the father of Indian Constitution and narrated the great events and moments from his life. Later a quiz was conducted on the same to sustain their learning. Some unknown facts during the making of the constitution were read out and they strengthened the interest of the students. The videos on making of the constitution made the students feel very proud of the leaders who had diligently worked in its making. The celebration also included a speech on ‘Child Rights’ and the need to protect to the children from all kinds of exploitation and abuses
In the end the ‘Pledge’ was administered by HM Ms Sunita Rajiv who later in her address told the students that ‘So long as you do not achieve social and economic liberty, whatever the freedom is provided by the constitution is of no avail to us.’
In Senior Section a special morning assembly was conducted. The assembly commenced with the introduction of the Constitution Day and its significance. Some unknown facts about the constitution of India were also shown to the students with the help of a video presentation. Thereafter, the guiding values mentioned in the Preamble were explained by the teachers followed by reading of the preamble by students and teachers in the Microsoft Teams meeting. All the students and teachers reaffirmed their commitment to the Indian Constitution by taking the pledge. The Fundamental Right and Fundamental Duties mentioned in the Constitution were also presented through showcasing of Videos. The teachers also discussed the importance of being a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic country and also conducted a quiz on the quizizz to assess the awareness of the students regarding the Constitution. Students patriotic fervor was at high on the occasion. The children were urged to abide by the constitution and feel proud to be a citizen of a great country.
