REPORT:

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. The celebratory customs associated with Christmas include gift giving, singing carols, giving church services, decorating house with Christmas trees and Lights.

Class XI-C conducted Virtual Christmas Assembly on 23rd December, 2020 on the theme “Joy of Giving”. Students participated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. It was conducted in classes IX-XII through the Youtube Video Link https://youtu.be/HxrW_Nb7F0U.

The Assembly was compered by Aarushi and Anushka Gupta. It started with an enlightening thought by Nikita from the holy book bible followed by National, International, Sports and Campus News by Kunjika. A video on “Origin of Christmas” gave the historical significance of the day. Sudiksha recited a self composed poem and gave her words to a silent short animated film- “The Joy of Giving”. Next Ritvika through her speech inspired everyone by narrating stories of great people like Mother Taresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Sanjit Bunker Roy who all found fulfilment in dedicating their lives in the service of mankind. To bring the spirit of merriment and joy, a beautiful rendition of Christmas carol was also played by Nikunj on Synthesizer which was loved by all.

Last but not the least, Anushka Pande and Ahana Ghosh recited a self composed poem titled “Redemancy” which made us realize that even the smallest act of kindness like visiting an orphanage, donating books, clothes, offering help, admiring work of others can be much more rewarding than getting a gift.

The assembly concluded with the address by Mr. Sanjay Yadav (Principal), Mr. Puneet Duggal (HM Senior school), Ms. Sunita Rajiv (HM Middle school), Ms. Anju Gupta (HM Primary School), Ms. Shipra Shrivastava (AHM, Primary School) and Ms. Pooja Shandilya (AHM, Pre- Primary School).

Overall it was a great learning experience and we all pledged on this Christmas to bring smile and joy in life of less fortunate.
