Kargil Vijay Diwas

The country celebrated the 22nd anniversary of the `Kargil Vijay Diwas`.The Indian armed forces had defeated Pakistan on July 26, 1999. Since then, the day is celebrated as `Kargil Vijay Diwas` to rekindle the pride and valour of the soldiers who took part in Operation Vijay.

Students of Class 1 and 2 learnt the significance of celebrating this day through a very short film on Kargil War.They paid a tribute to the Indian soldiers by reciting poem with great pride, thus remembering the sacrifices and valour of the brave hearts who took part in the Kargil war. They were also encouraged to do an activity in which they made Indian Flag using saffron coloured flower petals, rice grains and small green leaves.
