English Solo Rhyme Recitation Competition- Prep
“The sense of language has also been strengthened by reciting more”
Wei Shusheng
Nature nourishes the body and nurtures the soul. It’s in the folds of nature, a child should learn his first lessons. In today’s media-savvy generation, children have a lot available to them at the tips of their fingers. However, the longer they keep their eyes and fingers glued to technology, the less time they spend enjoying the beauty and wonder of nature outdoors. Keeping this in mind, the Pre-Primary Section organized an English Solo Rhyme Recitation Competition on Thursday, 5th May’22 for the students of Prep in the school auditorium. As young children hear and practice rhymes, they tune in to the rhythm of language in sounds, words, and phrases. They also hear and practice inflection, pitch, and facial expression. Most importantly, this fundamental learning happens through competitions in a fun and positive way among children. As children grow and learn, music and rhymes continue to be the key source of interaction and communication between children and the adults.
The theme of the competition being ‘Nature’ helped students display their talents with great zeal and enthusiasm. Few students also brought awareness about issues like saving trees, planting more seeds and taking care of the environment. The level of confidence while giving expressions was amazing. Students touched different areas with their impressive rhymes and the magnificent Props used by them to enhance their presentation. The competition was organized to explore and encourage the speaking skills of the children and to uplift their confidence.
Our Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav and Assistant Headmistress, Ms. Pooja Shandilya appreciated the initiative and effort taken up by the teachers, parents, and students. They also mentioned that the competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents.
It was a delight to hear these little ones perform on stage after two years. Children showcasing an event in the School Auditorium was overwhelming for the Heads and the teachers. It was an enriching experience for the spectators and an enjoyable learning experience for the participants.
