Report on the E – Waste Management Workshop
We at Ahlcon International believe that being a good citizen, who cares for nature is just as important as being a proficient scholar. To be aligned with this thought, our school organized a workshop on E- Waste management on 30th January 2023 to keep us updated about our environment and responsibilities towards it. It was conducted by, Mr Rakesh Khatri, popularly known as nest man of India along with Mr. Nipun Kaushik. Middle school students attended this workshop attentively and joyfully. Mr Nipun Kaushik told us about the fundamentals of E-waste management. He explained what exactly is meant by e-waste management. He told us the solutions to the problem of e-waste management which were: Reuse, Recycle and Repair. He proposed to conduct e-waste collection drives in our school. He told us a motto “Buy Less Use More.” Speaking on the ever-increasing consumption of electrical products, Mr. Kaushik emphasized on the importance of having a systematic, formalized E-Waste management sector that can handle the increasing amount of E-Waste in a manner which reduces any mismanagement of the same and its subsequent harmful effects.Further, while talking about the extended producer responsibility, Mr. Kaushik explained that the responsibility of the electronic product consumers also plays a role in E-Waste management and discussed the ways in which students as individuals can contribute to the management of E-Waste. He explained to the students how they can associate with the school to spread awareness and bring about the much-needed change
HM Senior section Mr. Puneet Duggal and AHM middle section Ms. Sunanda S. Kumar presented a planter of gratitude to the guests. Some students were chosen to attend the workshop in eco library by Mr. Rakesh Khatri. Mr. Khatri spoke about how sparrows are important to humans and why we should take care of them Mr. Puneet Duggal HM Senior Section addressed the students and emphasised on our role as consumers to reduse, reuse and recycle.
The facts brought great awareness to all the students who promised to follow the rule of the three R’s.
