Celebration of National Maths Day by Middle Section

Ancient Indian mathematicians have contributed immensely to the field of mathematics. National Mathematics Day is celebrated on 22 December every year to mark the birth anniversary of legendary Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan.

December 22 was designated as National Mathematics Day by Government of India in 2012.

The celebrations aim at spreading awareness about the importance of mathematics and the contributions made by Srinivasa Ramanujan, in the field of mathematics.

To apprise the students about the exemplary work by S. Ramanujan an to re-invoke their love for mathematics, an enriching presentation was observed in classes VI-VIII in the spirit of National Mathematics Day.

The students watched a motivational Ted Talk to understand the real essence of mathematics. The video was followed by an interesting quiz consisting of mind-tingling puzzles created by one of our maths faculty member- Mr. Amit. The students thoroughly enjoyed the quiz and were thoroughly engaged in solving the puzzles. It turned was a great practice to enhance their mental maths, analytical skills, critical thinking and speed.

Whether we are educating students at home or in a classroom, we have wonderful hopes and dreams for our students and their learning, including actually enjoying learning. Such activities play a huge role in rekindling the joy of mathematics among students.
