A workshop on ‘Nest Making for Sparrow Conservation’ was organized on the school terrace in collaboration with Eco Roots Foundation on Friday, 18th February 2022.The main objectives of the workshop were:

∙       To ignite scientific skills, knowledge and understanding among children.

∙       To develop creativity and explore the natural world.

∙       To promote the use of school grounds as a teaching and learning resource.

Mr. Rakesh Khatri was the resource person for the session. Around fifty students from classes VI-VIII participated in the workshop and they learnt to make nests out of coconut fiber, jute threads, wooden rings and bamboo sticks. Mr. Khatri enlightened the students regarding the significance of biodiversity and the need to preserve flora and fauna. Students were able to develop a deeper understanding of the dynamic relationships between animals and their habitats through inquiry. They made beautiful nests and learnt to hang them in the trees of school campus to attract sparrows.
