SWACHHTA PAKHWADA

Gandhiji said “Cleanliness is next to godliness.”

Cleanliness gives rise to a good character by keeping body, mind, and soul clean and peaceful. It is one of the most important qualities of life. Cleanliness is defined as the state of being clean or the act of keeping the environment clean.

With this objective in mind, Swachhta Pakhwada was started in April 2016. It aims to bring a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and practices of cleanliness i.e. Swachhta.

The role of schools has been instrumental in realizing the mission of ‘Swachh Bharat.’ As the schools play a vital role in spreading the ‘Swachhta’ awareness and implementation across the country, Ahlcon International School observed Swachhta Pakhwada from 1st to 15th September.

Students of Foundation Stage participated in this multitude of activities which helped to raise their awareness of a clean environment. Cleanliness activities were conducted for classes Nursery to II.

Day I – Awareness against the use Single-Use plastic

Class Prep students drew single-use plastic drawings to promote a clean environment that leads to a clean and green earth. Class I students recited poems on the same topic whereas class II students made beautiful posters on the topic.

Day 2- Cleaning of Lockers and Awareness about Hand Hygiene.

Students of Foundation stage cleaned and arranged their lockers under the guidance of teachers. They also learnt about the correct method of washing hands so that they can keep germs and bacteria at bay.

Day 3– Cleaning up the Surroundings and School Premises.

They diligently cleaned their classrooms, ensuring that desks and tables gleamed after meals. Their commitment to maintaining a clean environment not only reflected a sense of responsibility but also instilled valuable habits of cleanliness for a healthier and more organized future.

Day 4- Assembly Programme and Cleanliness Pledge

In the Special Assembly conducted on Thursday 14th September 2023, an important initiative launched by India’s honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, was discussed – the Swachhta Pakhwada (Cleanliness Fortnight). This initiative not only emphasized the importance of personal hygiene but also underscored the significance of cleanliness in our surroundings.

In line with this initiative, students and teachers of the foundational stage enthusiastically participated in various activities. A video presentation titled ‘Swacchta Ki Aur Ek Kadam’ showcased commendable efforts and dedicated contributions by our students in support of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign).”

At the school’s special assembly, our children enthusiastically took the Swachhta Pakhwada Pledge. They pledged not only to care for themselves and their environment but also for their nation. They vowed to make efforts to inspire everyone to join this mission.
