Grandparents Day 2023

“What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humour, comfort, lessons in life. A child needs grandparent to grow a little more securely into an unfamiliar world.”

Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, the keepers of traditions. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close at heart.

To honour them, the Staff and Nursery students of the Foundation Stage celebrated ‘Grandparents Day’ on Saturday, 7th October 2023. The function started with welcoming the grandparents by the Class Teachers in their respective classrooms followed by a beautiful song sung by the students by their very own grandchildren. The children were very excited to showcase their love for their grandparents, which was evident on their faces while performing. It was a moment of elation to see the happiness ushering in the faces of all the grandparents who made the most of this wonderful day with happiness.

The Grandparents were welcomed by the Director of Ahlcon Group of Schools, Dr. Ashok Kumar Pandey, Principal Mr. Sanjay Yadav and Vice Principal Mr. Puneet Duggal through a video message. The Heads talked about the values the children inherit from their grandparents and the important role they play in shaping the character of the children.

Grandparents exhibited their talents by dancing and singing melodious songs and bhajans. To balance the tones set by the events thus far, several games were conducted for the guests and the grandparents participated with great zeal. The winning Grandparents from the Game were greeted with gifts by the Vice Principal Mr. Puneet Duggal, and Headmistress Ms. Pooja Shandilya which brought a twinkle to their eyes.

It was a successful event indeed. Grandparents were gifted souvenirs especially designed for them by their grandchildren. Refreshments were served and it was a great success. The School Staff also interacted on a one-to-one basis with the guests, during the high tea arranged for them. The Grandparents appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students and their words were filled with oodles of blessings, happy faces, excitement and cheer.
