Student Interaction Session on Adolescence

“Adolescence is not about letting go. It’s about hanging on during a very bumpy ride.”

On Wednesday, 13th November 2024, a Student Interaction Session on Adolescence was conducted in the school auditorium for students of the Middle Stage. The session, led by Dr. Deepak Gupta, a renowned child psychologist, aimed to help young individuals navigate the unique challenges of this developmental stage. The primary objectives of the session were:

  • To foster self-awareness and emotional understanding during adolescence.
  • To equip students with practical strategies for managing emotional and social challenges.
  • To encourage students to view adolescence as a journey of growth and self-discovery.

Dr. Gupta fostered an open and supportive environment, encouraging students to share their experiences and feel validated in their emotions. He introduced his unique “ABC of Adolescence,” a practical framework designed to help students navigate common challenges like peer pressure, self-esteem, and substance abuse. This approach emphasized three steps: acknowledging the problem, believing in oneself, and maintaining open communication. Through these practical strategies, students gained valuable insights and tools, empowering them to face adolescence with confidence and resilience.

The session emphasized focusing on strengths, building effective communication skills, and understanding that the struggles of adolescence are a normal part of development. Through interactive discussions and real-life scenarios, Dr. Gupta made the concepts relatable, empowering students to embrace adolescence with a positive mindset and a sense of self-assurance.
