Inter-Class Fancy Dress Competition- Nursery
At Ahlcon International School, we believe in the importance of all-round development for every child. This development goes beyond academics to include social, emotional, and communication skills, all of which play a vital role in shaping confident and well-rounded individuals. In line with this vision, the Foundation Stage at Ahlcon organized an Inter-Class Fancy Dress Competition for its Nursery students on Friday, 13th December 2024.
The theme of the competition focused on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to raise awareness about critical global issues amongst young students. Through this competition, students presented themselves as champions of various SDGs, sharing their understanding of important topics such as saving water, Planting Trees, Save Electricity, the Importance of Flora and Fauna, and the Disadvantages of Plastic.
This event was an excellent platform for the children to showcase their oratory skills and creativity. The competition encouraged them to speak confidently and independently, boosting their stage presence and public speaking abilities. It was also an opportunity for them to understand the importance of sustainability and how small actions can make a big difference in creating a better future.
The performances were evaluated on several criteria, including actions and expressions, clarity of speech, creativity in dressing up, and confidence. The students’ enthusiasm and effort were evident in their costumes, speeches, and presentations, and they truly embodied the values of Ahlcon International School: “Global Perspective, Indian Values.”
The winning performances were categorized as Outstanding, Excellent, and Praiseworthy. Certificates were presented to the winners for their creativity, confidence, and effective communication skills.
At the conclusion of the event, Headmistress, Ms. Pooja Shandilya, commended the children and their parents for their hard work and wonderful performances. She took the opportunity to quiz the children about what they had learned from the competition and encouraged them to continue spreading awareness about the SDGs. This event served as a platform for the children to act as “Change Agents”, allowing them to work together for a better tomorrow.
